Comal County lost one of its family of First Responders. It was with great sadness in our hearts when we learned of the passing of Corrections Officer Cynthia Young on July 4, 2017. Cynthia and her family were in Marble Falls enjoying the fireworks show. After the show was over, Cynthia was struck by a drunk driver who ran a stop sign. Cynthia was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. Cynthia began her career at the Sheriff’s Office as a member of the Nursing Staff in 2009. She later transitioned to Corrections Officer in 2012 after medical services were contracted out. The 100 Club of Comal County met with the family on Thursday afternoon and helped with financial assistance during this sad time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this time of sorrow.
